Names behind the Numbers
The Directory of African American Architects records less than 700 African American women architects who are licensed and currently practicing in the nation. If we maintain the current trajectory we will reach Ms.1000, the 1000th licensed, near the year 2040.

Letters to Ms.1000 Empowerment Initiative:
Empower the next generation of architects by using the publication as a financial resource. Book proceeds go towards mentorship programs, education expenses, testing, as well as book distribution to colleges and universities with architecture programs.

Empower Ms.1000
Letters to Ms. 1000 is seeking letters from currently licensed African American Women Architects written to those at the educational or prelicensure level as a part of a mentoring initiative for our second publication. We can aid in changing the narrative and empower our future Ms. Architect for many generations to come with our words of wisdom and encouragement.
